Sheriff Dogberry The previous sheriff of Pimpleton met his unfortunate end when he was encouraged, by then plain old citizen Jonathon Dogberry, to confront the local dragon, AKA Nigel, and attempt to forcibly remove him from the neighboring forest. Many of the inhabitants of Pimpleton have speculated that Dogberry’s intentions may not have been completely honorable, as the confrontation between the sheriff and Nigel ended, to no one’s surprise, with the sheriff being quickly devoured and Dogberry being elevated to the now vacant position of town sheriff. Still he does a decent job of it, particularly since he chose to employ Nigel as his deputy, rather than continue the feud that led to his predecessor being ingested.
